Not as bad as my winter slide (or maybe it was, its a short vid) but quite funny (mine was not funny)
interesting
I would have a better view on "Made in China" products if they were cheaper. i could careless if it was designed by French designers, if its made in China that means it is made cheaply. And the French designers paid cheaply and the quality of the product suffers. So i should be expected to pay an insane amount for something that's crap. I'm sure they would say im paying for the designers and the shipping and blah and blah, but if it was made in the U.S. i think that would lower some of the cost.
When it comes to products other than clothing like automotive parts or toys. There should be testing.
The only part that would screw them is OSHA and other safety requirements, oh and the higher standards (i think) the American manufactures.

word in the auto blog world is that Nissan wants to re-release the 240sx. I'm guessing to compete with the Genesis and i believe Kia has something up there sleeves. As a 240sx owner i would hope they do the past generations justice, if you are unfamiliar...
((When i say 240sx i am talking about the US versions. just imagine when i say 240sx that 180sx, 200sx, and Silvia are understood.))
Let me show you the beauty Nissan made for little more than a decade...
(some of these may be slightly modified but that's the fun of having a 240sx. I'll talk about modifying a little later on.)
I'll start with the 89-94 family which was came in hatchback, coupe, and a few lucky convertibles. to learn a little more here is the link for the Wiki page
Now the 95-98 models
Oh and if you live in other parts of the world you may have been graced with this beauty.
The S15 Silvia 99-02
From what i have read it will be staying a rear-wheel drive car. But what i hope Nissan realizes is that the fun of owning a 240sx is the practically limitless possibilities of modification.
From the Engines (which were crap in the U.S. compared to the stock engines overseas) to the Body. Imagine going from a lame 4 cyl. engine to an engine out of the Nissan Skyline, which was never introduced in the states til this year.(legally) its not exactly practical for the daily driver but with a little work its possible.
As for the body, the front facade of these cars from 89-2002 with a little work and factory parts are interchangeable. Even the Skyline facades can be used. if interested, i advise searching google for "240sx conversion" it can be too much to list.
Also suspension pieces can be used from other various cars: Infiniti's mainly, but still. its possible.
And the aftermarket for these cars is ridiculous. the leader being Japan (obviously) sustaining this cult following. always innovating and improving on cars that are decades old.
Now without further ado, the possible future (2011,2012
Wrong
Wrong
Wrong
That is the Foria concept which is thought to be what the 240sx will be modeled after. being built on the 350z,370, and infiniti G platform, i hope they are smart enough to make suspension pieces and Wheels interchangeable and use the aftermarket that has come from these cars.
For the article: Go Here
The article says "reviving" but that seems more like a "re-imagination." The next 240sx should really not be that much different than what we have now. It should just have more Factory options, especially for the U.S. Seems like we always get the crap end of the stick, with watered down versions. And keep the Hatch, Coupe, Vert body styles.
My Import cars are probably breakdown after I say this, but....... Nissan kind of needs to see what Ford, Dodge, and Chevy are doing with their classics. Cause that's what Nissan has: A Classic
just one mans opinion

i joined kiva awhile back thinking it had a great business model. micro-lending to under developed towns in poverty struck countries. I'm not saying i have given a lot and I'm a big contributor to the site, but i am a small little cog wheel along with others that make this thing work for the borrowers. and when i say "borrowers" i mean those that don't have 20 different banks down the road and where jobs may be non-existent and you have to create your own way of life.
(and i know you may think the jobs here in the U.S. are non-existent but they are there you just have to want to do them)
for example:
Pedro Méndez Santos
"Pedro Méndez Santos lives in the San Martin municipality in the San Salvador department. Pedro is separated from the mother of his children. He currently has two children who live with him. Peter is 15, and David is 9. Both of them go to school.
Pedro worked in many factories, where his talents were exploited and poorly compensated. He used this experience to start his business. He has now set up a business making all types of clothes including printed shirts.
In the photograph Pedro is shown with the tool that is vital to his work. It is called a “pulpo”. The shirts are placed on it in order to be printed.
The loan Pedro is asking for is to buy shirts wholesale. That way he gets a greater margin of earnings."
i am currently lending to this man in El Salvador where 5,000 dollars is the average income a YEAR!!! These are (i like to think) honest people that were introduced to this great program and have a chance to benefit for a little better life.
There are many listings like this, well deserving people that just need what their area can't provide. $100, $200, $800, and maybe a thousand or two for groups of people that are in business together.
But recently when i was scrolling through the listing i saw something that disturbed me. Listings from the United States, and im not saying there aren't deserving people here that could use a hand. What got to me was the Greed of it, America has to do it bigger i guess. let me show you an example.
If you notice that there are two groups of women above "Nancy's" listings asking merely a couple hundred dollars,(split between a few people each donating $25, its not much.) to buy materials for dressmaking and food to sell at market. Then there is Nancy that is only asking a mere 8,000 dollars to open up some sort of herbal medicine shop. The real kicker is if you notice is that she is closer to her goal than the other women. i mean really, am i alone in thinking somethings not right?
I understand that it more than likely takes more money to start a business here in the great U.S. but to go to Kiva asking for 8,000 seems a bit much. Seeing as she does live in the U.S. and seeing how she probably isn't that bad off with her nice Glamour Shot photo. i am no banker by any means, and i dont exactly know how kiva works. But would it not be possible for Nancy to maybe only ask Kiva for 2,000 dollars and use that as collateral for a larger loan from a bank. If Kiva charges interest to the "borrowers" then she gets a little bigger loan from a bank and pay kiva back faster. By the looks of her photo maybe she can put her real estate company (or what's left of it) up for collateral. maybe I'm alone in this.
Now on to Mr(i'm pretty sure). Alix, He(just look) is asking a mere 10,000 dollars to further his vintage clothing company. seen here
If you look, the group below MR. Alix is asking for $280 dollars with 28% raised. which is about $78.50. Alix is asking for $10,000 and has raised 17%, which is about $1700. now everyone contributing to Kiva, that $1700 could have been shared between 6 different (take no offense Mr. Alix) people and fulfilled their loans. now this $10,000 that Mr. Alix i'm sure will receive could have been shared by almost 36 different people(asking about $280.) now lets face it, i'm thinking that $10,000 is to go from Pre-Op to Post-Op.
Now i am sure that there are more out there like this, but these are the first ones i saw and the types of listings i will be avoiding from now on.
i mean just picture seeing two different people on the side of the road asking for a small loan. one is standing in front of his modest house/place of business with his family. and the other is leaning against a fence uninterested if you loan him the money or not. i don't know about the rest of you, but i'm giving it to the person that will truly use it for something vital to their lives.

District 9
was a great movie though it was delivered in a fresh way something seemed familiar about it.
imdb plot:
A soldier from Earth crashlands on an alien world after sustaining battle damage. Eventually he encounters another survivor, but from the enemy species he was fighting; they band together to survive on this hostile world. In the end the human finds himself caring for his enemy in a completely unexpected way. Written by Dan Hartung {dhartung@mcs.com}
i know its not exactly the same but the idea i guess is pretty generic

comming soon.....THIRST
to me that is a new movie by director Park Chan-wook. "THIRST" yes the same Park Chan-wook of "old boy, sympathy for lady vengeance, and sympathy for Mr. Vengeance." i also strongly recommend these three for anyone that loves movies. if you're saying that these are foreign and i don't speak korean. well there is this great thing now called subtitles and are quite nice. So quit being lazy and read, you won't regret it.
the story for thirst goes like this: a priest becomes a vampire...another man's wife is coveted...a deadly seduction triggers murder....Awesome

Moon is on the independent side, i don't like giving away anything so i'll just use the plot description from IMDB
"Astronaut Sam Bell has a quintessentially personal encounter toward the end of his three-year stint on the Moon, where he, working alongside his computer, GERTY, sends back to Earth parcels of a resource that has helped diminish our planet's power problems."
it is actually a really good movie, if this were to have hit the mainstream circuit i would have to take back my comment about american movies. Moon is very original and is worth the price of a ticket.
Well just read that the Director Duncan Jones is the son of a Mr. David Bowie, interesting. i'm no longer sure if this is considered an american movie. none the less a good movie so skip "Orphan" or "G-force" and find one of the theaters playing Moon. and Watch it

my fav Japanese pop/rock songs with their odd videos. though i have no idea what they are saying, if you truly appreciate music you dont have to understand it.
first up is HALCALI, i almost wouldn't call their music pop. the way they flow its almost like rap. and they are known to have some odd videos. check them out.
Next is Maximum the Hormone, if you watch anime you are familiar. this song is koi no mega lover and dont let the intro fool you. if you like this search for "Whats up people" they have a lot of good songs
Boom Boom Satellites with Kick it Out! nothing really weird with them just good stuff
and for fun a little Dragon Ash
if you haven't yet, you should definitely open up to some world music. like i said these are just some of my favs. Go find your own

just finished watching Paprika( a japanese anime movie)
this opening scene should trip you out enough.
it has a really great story, better than anything we (america) can come up with. our animations tend to lean on the kiddie side. the darkest "american" animation i've seen is the Animatrix and i think even that had some japanese submissions.
i won't give away any of the story to paprika cause its a must watch. you can find it on Netflix, i did.
i used to spend a lot of money on foriegn films, buying dvd's from Frys, Best buy, and from ebay. now its just like 15 bucks a month and i have a long queue of movies waiting to be shipped out. it really does simplify things.
got off on a netflix and crappy american movie tangent there, oops.
what i was gunning for was the thought i had after watching the movie. is that fact that i never remember any of my dreams. better i should say i never remember the whole thing. i can remember a fall cause that normally wakes me up, and i can get flashes of sexy time dreams. but never enough to think its worth writing down. i've never had a reoccurring dream. is it cause i am rarely complex'd? my life too easy or something?
who knows?
who killed bojangles?
was it youuuuuuuuuuuu?
