is it apathy or genius? This started with a simple idea. Doing work half-assed cause you know someone else has to go behind you to complete the job. I learned its both. I was once that guy that didn't mind finishing everything up. Now i see myself becoming more like them: an apathetic genius.
I was trying to watch that new show that premiered called "The Event", notice i said trying. Everyone is saying that its like LOST and 24, that it is not. i honestly couldn't get past the first 10 minutes of it. its honestly like the movie memento was chopped up and they added more characters and time stamps. 11 minutes earlier to present, 11 days earlier to present, 23 minutes earlier to that past scene. Really? i stopped caring after about 5 minutes and gave it 5 minutes to behave and sit still, but it wouldn't so i'm done.
They should have showed the "event" first and then jumped around, i could give a crap less about jumping around on the promise of something really cool is coming up next. with the way its going now its going to be another Heroes, the end never comes. Or it will end like lost where it stretches on and they make it up as they go making the story so convoluted in its own mythology that it sucks. Heroes and Lost should have been one season with a beginning, middle, and an end. (or end, middle, beginning) And if it was successful, maybe a sequel or spin-off. which would allow for plot holes to be filled with other peoples perspectives.
another long sleep session brings you this........
Stuck in a Zombie filled America, the leaders are all gone and the Zombies keep coming. We are stuck in a house with a few guns but not much else. It's just a constant stream of Zombies.....The Zombies have kicked it up a notch though, they have the same ability from Ringu.
Luckily we only had one old CRT type TV. So in addition to fighting them through the windows we also had to worry about the TV. We ran out of handgun ammo pretty quick (which for some weird reason the ammo looked like quarters), and the shotgun ammo was going fast. I noticed the shotgun somehow jam on me a few times (maybe cause i've never used one in real life), but there was always someone behind me to cover me. It was starting to get late and surprisingly the wave of Zombies was wearing thin outside.
We shut off the lights and tried to be as quiet as possible (been watching too much high school of the dead). For some reason we couldn't win with the TV, it seemed like it was one after the other. Bashing heads in for a while and then we thought we got smart and decided to unplug the TV.....Brilliant!!. Nope. The TV would turn itself back on, (we didn't think about smashing the screen) so we had another brilliant idea....we rolled the TV in front of the window, so whenever it crawled out the TV it fell out the window. finally we could sleep
I post every once in a while, so i check my site when doing so. 9/08/2010 it is noticed that my visitors jumped considerably. seeing has how anywhere from 0 to 8 people view it on a daily basis, looking at 300 visitors is what i would call out of the ordinary. a few numbers for ya........
But it turns out all of a sudden guys from across the globe are interested in this person, and somehow google has my link of the pic in its 2nd or 3rd spot.
a little google analytics for ya.....
it appears the biggest contributor is Google.cl , which is Chile. but if you watch the Revolver map on the right side you may see them from all over.
A little backdrop before I begin. I work nights and usually sleep during the day, so when this kind of schedule is worked its like you almost get screwed out of a day off. So i've come to try staying awake during the day when i should be sleeping, that makes it possible for me to sleep during the night.
So yesterday (9/7/2010) i tried to stay awake but kept nodding off, so i said screw it and ended up taking a 4 hour nap. Which left me wide awake til about 3AM when i finally went to bed. Turns out that earns me 12 hours of sleep cause i didn't wake up until 3PM. But in these 12 hours I was treated to a show, a full length, full color feature. so when i woke up from this double feature (i normally only sleep 5-6 hrs.) I actually remembered most of it, which never happens. Usually i can remember one scene or one line, and that was only if it really stood out. So I had to write down what i could. Understand I'm not a writer nor have i ever claimed to be so Spell Check has my back on spelling, but the rest is all my fault. After reading what i had written, it seemed like it would make an interesting short film, or full length if the right person got a hold of it. So if it means anything, I hold all rights to this story, however crappy it may be....It came out of my head and i earned it.
I'm not really into analyzing dreams so feel free if you wish, if you see any of (these) in there thats me thinking about it after waking up.
THE DREAM
written poorly by (ME)
(it's night time-how fitting)
Working as Repo men, me and ? (thats his name for now) arrive at a high rise building to recover a piece of artwork. ( i have the picture in my head) Upon exiting the building we were slightly questioned by what seemed to be a cop walking the opposite direction in the parking garage. I urged ? to hurry the fuck up, but he was walking as if he owned the place almost like he was waiting for the cop to come back around. I rush and hop in the car (a convertible), yet ? is still walking slowly as if he wanted to be caught (when i first wrote this down and actually wrote "caught" it pop in that we were actually thieves playing repo men playing ordinary people) (get it) The cop drives up and ? decides to have a quick chat with him and all seems fine, ? gets in the car laughing, "hes the pool security guard" he says. Me not caring either way I sped off just out of wanting to get the hell out of there, thinking "maybe i'm not cut out for this." Hopping on the nearest freeway and heading in the easiest direction just to get as far away as possible. Then I see the strobes of the blues and reds engulf the car and the road. As i look in the rear-view mirror to see the cop face to face, i'm stuck looking at taillights. He's driving the opposite direction, going head on (away from me, but in the same lane...don't ask cause i don't know) into the flow of traffic. As the flashing strobes subside from the car, it felt as if they released the grip they had on my heart. As a loud crash was heard we could relax and continue on. But not knowing what road we were on or where we were going, ? and I stopped at the next gas station (a small town type) to ask for directions and ? was out of cigarettes......2fer.
So After getting directions and nearly paying for my stuff I see someone kneeling by the car. Suspicious, I rush out to find the passenger side rear wheel on a jack and one lug nut removed. Which struck me as odd since there weren't any tools around. The Kneeler was an older woman with a petite frame (think fiona from Burn notice, sorry dont know her real name.) She said,"we couldn't leave, we had to stay" (not like a OMG I love you kind of way, but a holy crap something fucked up is going on here you have to help) She was saying this repeatedly, but as I saw ? walking out of the store I told her that "if she went over to that darkened corner over there and got naked" that i would think about it (don't judge). So as she walks to the corner ? gets in the car. I stay there for a minute waiting for the show, but all i see is clothes coming out of the shadows. I think about getting closer, but think "bump that" jump in the car and again speed away. (film flub-what happened to the car being on a jack and the one lug nut??) Surprised ? asks if I saw that naked chick in the corner as we were pulling away? i say "NO damnit"
Somehow we make it to what I recognize as Irving, Texas. It's familiar yet not at the same time. We are driving in these cliff type roads (even though irving does not have these) I can see the city lights below and identify the mall and the highway, yet we can't seem to make it out. I make all the logical turns that should get us out and still it feels as if we are going in circles. That is until we come to a dead end with a sign that reads "Turn Around, Turn Right." (an official looking sign, not some hobo writing on a plank of wood) Yet i'm stuck, It feels like deja vu. I've been here before, It's not enough to stop me from going on. so i turn around, turn right and fly off the cliff.
We survived, mainly cause we didn't fly completely off the cliff but landed on a lower level. (sucks with a car with no airbags)
Then it's like a camera zooms out of the car and out of my head and we see me telling this story to a child.
(i don't recall if i was an old man doing a crazy grandpa story or if i was the same age telling a "Please, believe me" story, hollywood can decide that part)
i'm a simple guy that likes to keep busy. i wish i had a steady medium, but mixed media and anything new i can get my hands on can be made into something. i'm a fan of nonsense....the why?'s and WTF's are fun. which always leaves me looking for something new.
